Getaway to the Adirondack Mountains
Prev ious Getaway Weekends to upstate New York have acquainted us with some of t he finest roads in the northeast for exercising our Porsches. With gr eat anticipation we return to the heart of the Adirondack Mountains for an encounter with wonderfully sinuous roads guaranteed to focus a driver’s att ention on that next curve just ahead. If you want miles of continuous ly linked curves, then this three-day weekend is the event for you. A rrive Saturday, Sept 10, drive with the group on Sunday, then depart for ho me on Monday. In between, socialize with friends and fellow Porscheph iles, enjoy fine dining, tour Olympic and historic venues, hike mountain tr ails, browse village shops within easy walking distance of the hotel, and m ost of all ... savor the roads.
The Village of Lake Placid, NY will b e our base of operations. We have secured deluxe lakeside accommodati ons centrally located within walking distance of restaurants and shops of a ll descriptions. A Welcome Dinner is planned for arrival day in Lake Placid (Saturday, Sept 10). Our group drive (Sunday, Sept 11) will include a stop for late lunch enroute. A Group Dinner in Lake Placid will cap off the day.
Our Get-A-Way hotel is the Golden Arrow Lakeside
Resort, situated in downtown Lake Placid on the shore of Mirror Lake.
The Golden Arrow is holding a block of 15 discounted rooms for NCR members
until August 10, 2022. Reservations made after that date will not re
ceive the club discount and will be subject to room availability.
Room Types and Rates: Lakeside room with King or 2 Queens: $179 (Sun day through Thursday) and $299 (Friday and Saturday). Minimum 2 night s to get these rates. Along with pleasant accommodations, the Golden Arrow will provide segregated Porsche-only parking for club members. < /p>
Cancellation/Change policy: 7 Days Prior to arrival. That means that if a room night is to be dropped or a reservation is to be canc eled, it must be done at least 7 days prior to the arrival date. Insi de of 7 days you will be charged for the dropped night or entire cancelled reservation.
You are responsible for making your own hotel re servations.
As a sign of the times, arrangements for group d ining have proved difficult and elusive. We plan to have a Welcome Di nner Saturday evening (Sept 10) and a Group Dinner Sunday evening.&nb sp; During registration you will have an opportunity to indicate your parti cipation in either or both dining options.
