Hi Visitor,
2021 NCR Spring Getaway Weekend -- Inside-Out Bar Harbor Tour -- June 5 - 7, 2021
Join like-minded Porsche enthusiasts on a tour from New Hampshire across Maine to the rock-bound Atlantic coast with its scenic and gustatory delights. Our three-day getaway is timed to bring us to Bar Harbor on Mt Desert Island just prior to high season, so we should enjoy warming temperatures, minimal congestion, and easier access to the region's offerings. Discounted lodging is available at the waterfront Bar Harbor Inn & Spa. While in Bar Harbor, you will have options for exploration (subject to COVID restrictions), including Acadia National Park; hiking or biking; photography; sailing; and carriage rides on 58 miles of Rockefeller’s woodland roads.
We call this an “inside-out” tour because on Day One we will drive as a group from North Conway, NH to Bar Harbor, then leave Day Two for you to explore the area on your own. Group dinners will provide opportunities to share discoveries and experiences.
Proper mask wearing is REQUIRED when outside your car. No Exceptions. If this requirement offends you, skip this event.
Further information and the Register button are on the NCR website calendar. Information about the Bar Harbor area will be sent to registered participants shortly before the event.
SpeedWaiver 101 for NCR Rallies/Tours
Due to COVID-19, we no longer sign paper waivers when we assemble for a rally/tour event. Instead, we have switched to Digital Waiver Credentials that are generated using your smartphone. This process is managed by the SpeedWaiver system on MotorsportReg (MSR).
Each rally event will have its own unique SpeedWaiver credential, so each time you register for an event, you must generate an event-specific digital credential.
You will use your smartphone to display your SpeedWaiver credential at check-in for the rally Drivers Meeting. No paper waivers will be accepted.
PCA-approved SpeedWaiver credentials certify two waiver documents: the usual PCA liability release plus a new Communicable Disease Waiver. Using the SpeedWaiver system, you sign both to obtain a single credential.
Every rally participant MUST have their own individual SpeedWaiver credential.
Minors: Unfortunately, PCA has not (yet) approved SpeedWaivers for minors (those under 18 years). Thus, we cannot accept registrations for minors or permit them to participate in NCR rallies and tours. Regrettable, but it is what it is.
Creating a SpeedWaiver is quite easy both for registrants and for the navigator/passenger listed when registering on MSR.
14-Day Window: SpeedWaivers become available on the SpeedWaiver website for registrants and navigators/passengers 14 days before an event begins.
For the registrant: Near the end of your registration on MSR, you will have an opportunity to enter your mobile phone number. Once you complete your registration, the SpeedWaiver system will text you a link to complete your waiver credential. In addition, you will receive a confirmation email from MSR that includes a link to the SpeedWaiver website. This is an alternate means for you to complete the SpeedWaiver process. The 14-day window applies to the SpeedWaiver website.
For navigators/passengers: Each adult in your car must also obtain a SpeedWaiver. When within the 14-day window, each of those adults should go to https://pcancr.speedwaiver.com (this link is for NCR rallies/tours ONLY), select the event which he/she will be attending, enter name (as listed in MSR event registration) and mobile phone number, then agree and submit. The SpeedWaiver system will respond with a text message. Follow instructions to complete the SpeedWaiver.
Hint: When signing on your mobile phone, be sure your signature is above the dashed line.
Each participant will display their own individual SpeedWaiver credential on their mobile phone at event check-in.
