In 2016 our Fall Get-A-Way Weekend took us to the Village of Lake Placid, NY and over the Porsche-perfect roads of the region, with plenty of low-traffic byways featuring tight turns and elevation changes to keep the focus on driving. By popular demand, we return to Lake Placid for a reprise of that memorable experience. Arrive Saturday, drive with the group on Sunday, then depart for home on Monday. In between, socialize with friends and fellow Porschephiles, enjoy fine dining, tour Olympic venues, browse village shops within easy walking distance of the hotel, and most of all ... savor the roads.
Our Get-A-Way hotel is the Golden Arrow Resort, situated in downtown Lake Placid on the shore of Mirror Lake. The Golden Arrow is holding a block of 15 discounted rooms for NCR members until August 15, 2018. Reservations made after that date will not receive the club discount and will be subject to room availability. To make your reservation and receive club discount, telephone Golden Arrow Reservations at 800-582-5540 and mention our Group Name "North Country Porsche Club 2018" and the dates: Check in: Saturday September 15th 2018; Check out: Monday September 17th 2018.
Room Types and Rates: Lakeside room = $179; Village-side room = $159; Specialty rooms available starting at $249. Minimum 2 nights to get these rates. Along with pleasant accommodations, the Golden Arrow will provide segregated Porsche-only parking for club members.
Cancellation/Change policy: 7 Days Prior to arrival. That means that if a room night is to be dropped or a reservation is to be canceled, it must be done at least 7 days prior to the arrival date. Inside of 7 days you will be charged for the dropped night or entire cancelled reservation.
You are responsible for making your own hotel reservations. You are encouraged to book your hotel reservation now as Lake Placid lodging fills rapidly for the summer months.
Our NCR Social Chair is planning a Welcome Dinner for Saturday evening (Sept 15). We will have a Group Dinner Sunday evening after we have completed our drive of the region. During registration you will have the opportunity to indicate your participation in either or both of these dining options.

Here is your last chance to participate in the NCR autocross series. Our Autocross Season Finale is also a fundraiser for the Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry. All net proceeds along with all voluntary contributions will be donated to Loaves and Fishes.
Autocross is great chance to learn car control, compete with some friends, and have a great time. Located close by in Ayer, MA, this is the perfect chance to learn just how well your Porsche handles in a safe, controlled setting.

Our final Drivers Education event of the year is on the 6th & 7th of October at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and it is appropriately named ‘Spring is a Long Time Coming’.
Come enjoy this amazing NASCAR facility with a very challenging road course. This track will make you a better driver – guaranteed. Besides all the great driving, have you ever seen the fall foliage from the track? The views are spectacular and they give you another good reason to keep your eyes up while driving…. you already know the other reason – right?
Additional activities include Charity Laps at noon on Saturday. You will get an hour of lapping the track in your own car. The revenue from these activities as swell T shirt sales all go to the Make A Wish Foundation.
You will also have the opportunity to join your fellow drivers and friends at the Loudon Country Club to partake of hot off the smoker fresh Hickory Smoked Pork Shoulder pulled and chopped, Smoked Chicken breast shredded in BBQ Sauce and Smoked Kielbasa Chunks so moist and flavorful with a variety of your favorite sauces. Also enjoy Baked Beans, Red Skin Potato Salad, Cole Slaw and Cornbread, too.
The last NCR Rally Event of 2018 will feature a drive over lightly traveled roads of Western Maine to take in Autumn color and enjoy an outing with friends.
We will begin in Conway, NH, and initially head south to escape congestion before turning east for a winding drive into Maine paralleling the serpentine Shepards River. Our route will bend to the northeast and carry us past Fall colors reflected in pristine lakes along the way, until we finally turn west to enjoy additional Fall color on our journey to a late lunch at Ebenezer's Pub in Lovell, ME.
If you are an active Rally participant, you know each event is unique. Some feature roads with a faster pace, others offer interesting destinations, and some combine both. If you have not yet sampled the NCR Rally Program, check out photos on the NCR website and in Northlander, then join us for the final event of 2018 to whet your appetite for the 2019 season.
